Our Objectives
· To promote aromatherapy and the use of essential oils as a natural therapeutic method of healing and treatment.· To advance the use of essential oils and plant essences in professional therapeutic treatment in all areas of natural healing.
· To promote a constant dynamic and exchange of knowledge in this field.
· To develop new formulas that will enrich the "stock" of essences, oils, and compounds for the use of aromatherapy practitioners.
· To train and qualify practitioners to provide preventive, strengthening, and healing treatment and to improve their clients' quality of life through the use of oils and natural essences.
A Holistic Approach
The holistic approach of J.D. Schloss assumes broad and comprehensive responsibility for all aspects of aromatherapy , the use of essential oils and aromacology as a treatment: materials, research and development, training, guidance and enrichment, formulating professional standards, maintaining a dialogue among colleagues, dynamic updating and professional organization on an international basis.
Activities
• The Schloss center engages in sensitive and responsible professional training of aromatherapists and professional practitioners in other areas of complementary medicine.
• Supports ongoing counseling and regular seminars for active professional therapists.
• Creates and maintains a comprehensive up-to-date database of relevant information, achieved by an ongoing survey of new studies and continually assessing world knowledge concerning aromatherapy and related fields.
Oils and Essences
The J.D. Schloss laboratories research, develop, and produce hundreds of volatile compounds for special treatments. • Perform quality testing of the essences and treatment oil compounds. • Provide pure oils and essences for aromatherapy practitioners in Israel and abroad. • Export to Europe, the United States, and Japan.
Interdisciplinary and International Connections
· J.D. Schloss maintains ongoing contacts and exchange of information with physicians, surgeons, clinics, and institutions devoted to medical research in Israel and around the world.
· The Center initiates and participates in clinical studies designed to develop ways to incorporate methods from the field of aromatherapy and the use of essential oils into conventional medical intervention processes.
· The Center fosters and supports the integration of aromatherapists and other natural medicine practitioners into complementary medicine clinics in hospitals and HMOs.
· J.D. Schloss is an initiator and an active participant in forums created to establish international norms and standards for aromatherapy the use of essential oils and aromacology to eliminate charlatanism, enhance professionalism, and guarantee the quality of raw materials and oils—in cooperation with governmental and international standards authorities, and maintains active membership in the leading international aromatherapy organizations.
· The Center Initiates and participates in scientific committees of international conferences and hosting such events in Israel. It is also actively engaged in transmitting knowledge through the publications of academic institutions and those specializing in the field of aromatherapy , the use of essential oils and aromacology.
Continuing Support to Center Graduates
Graduates of the J. D. Schloss Center are entitled to professional consultation and counseling for diagnosing and formulating treatment in individual cases through an open telephone line for therapists, one-on-one conversations in person in the clinic, and at regularly scheduled professional meetings that are held at the Center in Tel-Aviv as well as in Haifa and Jerusalem. These meeting are also the venue for updating, learning about new subjects, and analyzing case histories. The Center also offers special courses and seminars for qualified therapists.
